The Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council’s Awards Exhibition 2026 lands at the Goldsmiths’ Centre
We are proud to host the Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council’s (GC&DC) 2026 Awards Exhibition here at the Goldsmiths' Centre in London from 2 July to 10 September 2026, presenting a curated selection of award-winning work from this year’s GC&DC Awards – the UK’s most prestigious accolades for jewellery, silversmithing and the allied crafts.
Free to visit and funded by the Goldsmiths’ Foundation, the exhibition celebrates outstanding craft skills, creative design and technical excellence from across the UK. Visitors will discover work by emerging and established designers, craftspeople and innovators, offering a unique insight into the breadth of talent shaping the sector today.
This year’s GC&DC Awards featured 46 categories spanning both 2D design and 3D craft and design. A total of 837 entries were submitted, with 67 Gold Awards presented. The competition was generously supported by 60 patrons and sponsors.
Judged by an independent panel of industry specialists, each submission was assessed for originality, technical excellence, design flair and craftsmanship. The resulting exhibition showcases the remarkable creativity and skill thriving within the jewellery, silversmithing and allied trades.
Among the highlights on display is Downy Feather Brooch by Janet Barber, recipient of the 2026 Goldsmiths’ Company Award for Exceptional and Outstanding Design. Crafted from titanium, mother-of-pearl and diamonds, the brooch was recognised for its innovative design, sophisticated combination of techniques and exceptional craftsmanship, leaving judges "spellbound".
Visitors will also be able to view Florid Scrolls by Annabel Hood, winner of this year’s Junior Award. The intricately hand-engraved steel piece, featuring a delicate silver-inlaid monogram, was produced as part of Hood’s gun engraving apprenticeship and also received Gold in the Junior Engravers category.
Other notable works include Caitlin Murphy’s Alpha Box in niobium and rose gold, Dan Voaden’s Candy Cane Coral ring set with sea-green opals, Jessica Jue and Angela Cork’s collaborative Emberstone Vessel, and Seongmin Kim’s carved pearl Harmony necklace.
The exhibition also features award-winning 2D design work, including Janet Weller FIPG’s The King’s Assay Master’s Pyxis Jewel, winner of the 2D Hand Rendering Award. From the 2D Medals category, visitors can see Princeps by Sally Costen, created as a tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne.
Commenting on this year’s Awards, GC&DC Chair John Ball said:
“Reflecting on the 2026 Awards, this year's exhibition serves as a powerful reminder of the technical and creative innovation driving our industry forward. It has been incredibly rewarding to see the expanding reach of the competition, especially with so many brilliant new names entering the fold this year. Whether looking at inspirational apprentice submissions or the sophisticated craftsmanship of seasoned professionals, the sheer quality on display champions the GC&DC’s core mission: to encourage, stimulate and promote excellence. We hope every visitor leaves inspired to channel these values into their own creative practice.”
The GC&DC 2026 Awards Exhibition is open at the Goldsmiths’ Centre, Clerkenwell, from 9am–6pm, Monday to Friday, from 2 July to 10 September 2026.
The annual GC&DC Craftsmanship and Design Awards are open to everyone working within the jewellery, silversmithing and allied trades, including craftspeople, designers, apprentices, students and hobbyists, and remain free to enter.
Alongside the exhibition, the Goldsmiths’ Centre will host a series of events celebrating craftsmanship and professional development. On 7 July, emerging makers are invited to attend Jewellery Feedback Session: Refining Your Finish with GC&DC, where participants can receive expert advice on the craft, presentation and finishing of 3D work.
On 14 July, the GC&DC, in partnership with the Goldsmiths’ Centre and The Worshipful Company of Gold and Silver Wyre Drawers, will present the online talk Techniques in Focus: Working with Wire. Featuring goldsmith and award-winning jeweller Jean Scott-Moncrieff, the session will explore the creative and technical possibilities of working with wire and provide insights into her acclaimed practice.
