The Goldsmiths’ Centre Launches Fifth ‘Spotlighting Getting Started’ Edition, Culminating in Spring 2026 Exhibition
The Goldsmiths’ Centre has launched the fifth edition of Spotlighting Getting Started, an initiative designed to celebrate and champion early-career jewellers and silversmiths from its annual Getting Started Online introduction to business programme. This year’s cohort of seven exceptional makers will be supported over the coming months as they put their learning into practice, grow their confidence, and develop their creative and professional identities – culminating in a public exhibition in Spring 2026.
Selected from the 2025 Getting Started Online participants, the new cohort, Liu Yang, Deniz Turan, Amelia Appleby (Amelia Appleby Jewellery), Lois Lo, Helen Dugdale, Joey Zhong (Joey Zhong Jewellery) and Bethany Chesser (LEVEE Jewellery), reflect through their pieces the diversity, innovation, and ambition that the Goldsmiths’ Centre is proud to nurture. Delivered through live webinars, self-paced and practical assignments, the free training programme equips these rising stars with the essential skills to establish their place in the industry.

The course covers how to prepare for interviews, photograph work professionally, and promote a creative practice through social media. Makers also apply these skills through a live Meet the Maker online event, promotion on the Centre’s Instagram channel (@gsmithscentre), and participation in the final physical exhibition – offering valuable exposure and the opportunity to engage directly with new audiences.
“This initiative has become an essential platform for emerging talent – not just to gain visibility, but to be actively supported in their growth. Spotlighting Getting Started continues to grow as a launchpad for some of the most exciting new voices in jewellery and silversmithing, offering valuable exposure and meaningful connections with wider audiences and the industry.”
– says Charlotte Dew, Head of Public Programmes at the Goldsmiths’ Centre
