The traditional conclusion to a Goldsmiths’ Company apprenticeship is the presentation of a ‘Masterpiece’, a piece of work which takes up to 350 hours (or 6 weeks) to make, and which demonstrates all the skills learnt throughout the apprenticeship. This tradition marks a young person's transition from apprentice to craftsperson.
Our team extends our heartfelt gratitude to all four employers for their invaluable contribution of time, dedication, and knowledge in nurturing the next generation of craftspeople. With the generous support of industry, we continue to foster talent through the Goldsmiths’ Company Apprenticeship Scheme, empowering young people to embark on their careers in the jewellery, silversmithing and allied industries.
Today the Goldsmiths’ Company Apprenticeship Scheme is delivered by the Goldsmiths’ Centre on behalf of the Goldsmiths’ Company. If you are interested in taking on an apprentice through the scheme, or for more information visit www.goldsmiths-centre.org/courses/employing-an-apprentice.
