Join Cecilia Fein-Hughes of Cece Jewellery in-conversation with jewellery journalist and author Rachael Taylor. Cece and Rachael will discuss the brands founding and blossoming over the last 3 years. Rachael will ask; how has Cece Jewellery found its place in the market? What have been the highs and lows of the brand's journey? How has Cece stayed true to her passions and identity whilst expanding? What has been the secret of building a loyal customer base? And what advice does Cece have for newly established brands?

Cece describes herself as 'born into a family of artists and bohemians', where she was 'immersed in magic and stories from the first moments of memory'. Her distinctive jewellery reveals a realm of enchantment, blending nature's beauty with boundless imagination. Through its exquisite craftsmanship, each piece is a testament to artistry and narrative. Inspired by ancient tales and tattoo designs, Cece intricately weaves mythology and symbolism into tangible treasures of gold and enamel. The brand's bespoke jewellery immortalises personal narratives of love, celebration, and introspection.

At the beginning of the event there will be the opportunity to network and talk to peers, and at the conclusion of the in-conversation Cece and Rachael will be pleased to answer your questions.

FAQs

Our monthly Creative Links talks and networking events, designed for emerging makers and creative start-ups, provoke thoughts and questions which will enable you to reflect on where you are and how to get to where you want to be. Build your network, create links, learn to grow your business and become part of the community.

Details of our upcoming events and topics covered are listed in our What’s On. Every other month the event will be hosted online, should you not be able to attend an in-person event.

Creative Links events aim to link emerging makers with each other, whilst exploring key topics essential to nurturing business success. We run our events in person at the Goldsmiths’ Centre and across the UK with a range of partners, and every other month our events take place online, so that as many of our community as possible can exchange ideas, learn from industry experts, and form valuable connections. We do not record or broadcast our events to encourage the open sharing of ideas and experiences. Popular topics will be repeated over time, so online and in-person participations can both engage in them.

Who are the speakers?

Raised in Dartmoor amidst its rich folklore, Cece - Cecilia Fein-Hughes - was captivated by her father's tales of deep-sea adventures and the mysteries of the moorland. Pursuing History of Art at Exeter University, Cece fell in love with the narratives embedded in art, exploring treasures at the V&A with her mother. A chance encounter with a renaissance gold band ignited my passion for jewellery design, leading her to study at the British Academy of Jewellery and master the craft in Hatton Garden's workshops.
