Working with Precious Metals: In-conversation with Eve Balashova

Jewellery designer and maker Evegeniia Balashova is an alumnus of the Glasgow School of Art and creates unique pieces using a combination of digital manufacturing and traditional hand skills. She shares with Stephanie Souroujon how she experiments with geometric structures through 3D printing to create the perfect jewellery compositions. 

She also gives an insight into her top tips starting out working with precious metals, from how to source your materials, cost and price your products and network with others. 

Who is the speaker?

Evgeniia Balashova was born in Murmansk, an industrial town located beyond the polar circle in the North-West of Russia. After graduating high school she pursued further studies in Scotland and graduated from The Glasgow School of Art in Silversmithing and Jewellery with a BA(HONS) in 2016. She works from her East End studio in Glasgow and exhibits her work in the UK and internationally.
