As a mentor, you’ll share your expertise across areas such as business planning, finance, marketing, sales and operations, helping emerging businesses turn ideas into action while gaining fresh perspective and making meaningful industry connections.
During this session, our team will:
- Introduce the Business Mentoring Programme and how it works
- Explain what’s involved in volunteering as a mentor
- Outline the time commitment and matching process
- Answer your questions
What is our Business Mentoring Programme?
The Goldsmiths’ Centre’s Business Mentoring Programme pairs early-stage UK jewellers and silversmiths with experienced industry professionals to spark ideas, solve problems, and build confidence. Mentees have completed a Business Diagnostic and Advice session, while mentors – many members of the nearly 700-year-old Goldsmiths’ Company –bring expertise as craftspeople, designers, or in supporting roles across retail, auction houses, marketing, and education.
Mentors are carefully matched to mentees based on relevant expertise, providing voluntary, free guidance across key areas: finance, sales, marketing, product, and operations.
