Having received their name as a wearable form of communication to waiters in 1920’s Prohibition Bars indicating that the wearers would like a sweet cocktail, which hid the taste of the low quality and strong-tasting illicit liquor, the “Cocktail Ring” was born!

100 years later, and post another Pandemic, the Cocktail Ring is having a resurgence. As Vogue and Harpers Bazaar both attest to the Cocktail Ring being “huge for 2022” we speak to 5 of the Goldsmiths Centre tenants and Gold Members as they share their love for these glorious, glittering giants of the Jewellery World.

Ellis Mhairi Cameron, Laura Bezant, Melanie Eddy, Flora Bhattachary, Ruby Taglight and Emefa Cole will talk about their favourite commissions, designing the larger ring, the gorgeous stones used and why the Cocktail ring should be celebrated.

Join us to discuss why – in this instance – we should Go Big Or Go Home!
