Join the team at the Goldsmiths’ Company’s archive to explore the creative world of renowned jeweller Dorothy Hogg.
Professor Hogg created a remarkable body of work over six decades, and her pieces can be found in museums and as cherished jewels in private collections. A series of sketchbooks show how Hogg found inspiration in the body and movement, but she also became an inspiration in her own right, influencing a generation of designers at Edinburgh College of Art, where she was Head of Jewellery & Silversmithing from 1985 until 2007.
The session will look at Hogg’s explorations of form and motion through her archival legacy and the work of the makers she influenced. Photograph and draw a range from the books and archives in the collection to spark your inspiration.
What do I need to bring with me?
