You are invited to join renowned silversmith and engraver Malcolm Appleby for an evening exploring his inspirations and experience. Members of the audience will have the opportunity to pose questions and enter into a dialogue about design, techniques and the trade, and draw from his more than 50 years of experience.

Malcolm discovered gun engraving at art school and has gone to apply these skills to jewellery and metal forms, taking inspiration from the natural world, myths and elemental ideas. He is interested in combining surface quality and form, using techniques such as engraving, mixing metals, texturing and hammering. The work that has resulted from his dedicated practice can be found in public and private collections across the country and beyond. Come armed with your questions to learn from this master.
