Your Safety

We look forward to welcoming you back to the Goldsmiths’ Centre with extra care.

Discover what safety measures we have put in place to ensure that you are taken care of during your visit.

Workshops

Before you arrive

  • If you have or have had (or anyone you care for or live with has or has had) within the past 14 days any symptom of COVID-19 (e.g. a high temperature, a new continuous cough or loss of, or change in, normal sense of taste or smell) please contact us 24 hours in advance at boxoffice@goldsmiths-centre.org or on 020 7566 7650 to cancel your booking.
  • Safety of our tutors and all participants is paramount. Please also note our Terms and Conditions in case we have to cancel a course due to COVID-19.

On arrival

  • Please arrive for your short course on time and no earlier as there is a limited waiting area available at the Goldsmiths’ Centre.
  • Please limit personal belongings and just bring your essentials – including the outlined tools or materials required for your short course.
  • You will be greeted on arrival by a member of our team who will take your name and direct you to the workshop.
  • We will be asking you to observe a one-way system to enter and exit the building.
  • All our staff are required to wear masks. You will also need to wear a face mask or face covering during the short course and please ensure that you bring your own.
  • If advised in the equipment list to bring a visor for use of equipment, please ensure that you bring your own. We are unable to share this piece of equipment due to hygiene.
  • So that we can adhere to physical distancing guidelines, we have reduced the number of benches in use, added protective screens to each bench, signage and floor markings throughout the workshop and building.
  • Due to the fixed layout of the workshops it is not possible to implement a one-way system. However, we have arranged for specific equipment for your course/activity to be positioned to allow freer movement and have set up on-screen projection so that you can watch detailed skills demonstrations by your tutor from a physical distance.
  • We will be following an enhanced cleaning routine, sanitising all surfaces, stools and any materials between use. We will also add additional cleaning stations for cleaning equipment and tools; and provide access to antibacterial cleaning products and biodegradable wipes.
  • In certain cases, we have increased the number of hand tools to reduce sharing of equipment. Where this is not always possible, we will require compulsory cleaning of tools and shared equipment before and after each use by the person using them.

  • Thank you for following the new guidelines and supporting us in keeping you and our short course participants safe.
