As part of London Craft Week, join Jos Skeates, founder of independent retailer E.C.One and a goldsmith with over 20 years’ experience, to discover the benefits of commissioning your own unique pieces of jewellery from independent designer makers.
Have you ever wondered how to commission an eye-catching piece of hand-crafted jewellery? During this special evening talk, Jos Skeates the founder of independent retailer E.C.One will discuss why we should buy from independent designer makers and how to go about commissioning your own custom-made jewellery.
From finding the right designer maker to inputting your ideas on their style, Jos will take you through the steps to end up with the final jewellery design that you helped to create and that is completely unique to you.
Connect with others ahead of the talk over a glass of wine from 6pm and enjoy a private view of our exhibition How to Build a Goldsmith. The talk starts at 6.30pm.
Jos Skeates met Alison Skeates at a time when Britannia was cool and Clerkenwell was a bit run down. Originally the backroom of a disused shop - E.C.One was born to bridge the gap between the high street and the gallery. Jos had spent 8 years learning his craft under a master goldsmith and then later at Central St Martins before asking Alison to join him in opening a store. He wanted to combine his traditional making skills with his new found love of design.
