The Goldsmiths’ Centre is the leading charity for the professional training of goldsmiths, bringing together trainee and working goldsmiths and anyone interested in jewellery, silversmithing and the allied arts. The centre is seeking an experienced and dynamic PA to support the Director during the current PA and Office Manager’s maternity leave.
As a start-up organisation, coming up to its second year of operation, this is a dynamic and fast paced environment suitable for a skilled professional who is confident working independently as well as part of a small, friendly team. You will provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support across the Director’s activities, co-ordinating diaries, maintaining records and finances, disseminating information and retaining effective communication with the senior management team and external bodies.
You will be confident in prioritising a varied workload with a flexible approach, and be a natural diplomat able to communicate well with a diverse, creative client base from heads of universities, important stakeholders to the craftsmen within the building. You must have excellent IT skills, be proficient with the MS Office suite and willing to work outside normal office hours as well as organising hospitality.

The Goldsmiths’ Centre, the leading charity for the professional training of goldsmiths, is looking for an enthusiastic temporary Events Coordinator. Located in Clerkenwell, the Goldsmiths’ Centre’s award-winning design combines a restored Grade II listed Victorian school with a cutting-edge contemporary building. It is a stunning events venue for exhibitions, conferences, product launches, photo shoots, private dining, screenings, receptions, roof-top entertaining and business meetings.
Working closely with the Events & Exhibition Manager, you will coordinate and deliver around 300 events per year, both internal and external. You will also provide administrative support to the Events and Exhibition team and ensure that operational and financial procedures are maintained at all times.
You will have demonstrable experience of running events in a similar environment and be used to producing events to an excellent standard. You will have outstanding customer service skills, excellent organisational skills, a good eye for detail, excellent communication skills and a flexible approach.
You will enjoy working creatively and have a collaborative approach to be able to build strong relationships with other departments as well as external clients and suppliers. Most importantly, you will be hungry for business and enjoy converting enquiries into real events.
